What happened during Hurricane Katrina? Where did it happen? How many people died? Well Hurricane Katrina happened in New Orleans and lots of homes and families were destroyed. Over 1,300 people died and many are still missing. We also know that over 11,000 refugees were being sent to other shelters in a Houston area.
During this event lots people were sending for lots of help and troops but what they needed was hope “We need additional troops, food, water, and we need personal law enforcement. (Mr. Matthews, 2.) As you can see people were very depressed and hungry.
"Were just a bunch of rats" said a cook who stood waiting in a throng of perhaps 10,000 outside the superdome, waiting in the blazing sun for buses to take things away from the city. “(Earle Young 31.)” This statement of Earle Sounds that she is really mad because she probably doesn’t have any food or the worst that she lost part of her family.
“We are like birds with our mouths open and you don’t have to be smart to know where to drop the worm.” (Colonel Eberth) I think that this statement by colonel states that the hurricane but real badly so it is pretty oviese where the disasters is, and were people are starving for food.
To conclude Hurricane Katrina was very tragic to every one even the people that didn’t go thought it. As you can see there was lots of anger and sad people. I would be sad if I lost one of my family member. How would you have been?
